Please meet our Game Master

Name: Kylie
Pronouns: She/Her

Games: I currently only run games of D&D 5e (2014/2024) but I would love to try Call of Cthulhu, Daggerheart or Blood on the Clocktower.
Themes: I love the high fantasy lore around the ‘classic’ D&D worlds, such as Faerun, but I am also a fan of other worlds, such as the world of The Witcher, Skyrim and Exandria.
I’d love to create my own world, inspired by fairy tales and nursery rhymes, with a side dish of horror. There would almost certainly be some sparkly rainbow dragons as well!
Most likely to say: ‘You absolutely can!’ Especially if it’s something silly or cool!

Backstory

Hello!

I’m Kylie. I like rainbows and glitter and fighting monsters with my imaginary sword!
I first started watching actual play Dungeons & Dragons during lockdown, but it took me five years to be brave enough to make it to a table. Now, the highlight of my weekend is pretending to be someone else for a few hours and making up stories with the fabulous folk at Six-Sided Society.
I’ve not been running games for long but love to let my mind wander around what could happen during a session and ponder which mini to paint next.
The Magic Portal has been a place of fun and self discovery for me, and I hope it will be for you too.

  • What can you expect at my game table?

A beginner and family friendly table with lots of player agency. I am definitely more of a rules light games master and will happily come to an agreement about which of those captured monsters you might be able to adopt as a pet – but you’ll have to roll for it!
As well as being fantastic fun, I also believe that TTRPGs, such as Dungeons & Dragons, are great for helping young people build their confidence, become active listeners and work as a team.
I like to let the creepiness out when I’m running a game for adults, basing one shots on some of my favourite horror books. I’m a big fan of a detailed map and I love to try and add atmosphere with sound where I can.

  • As a player

You’ll know it’s an important roll if I stand up to roll it.

  • If a bard wrote a song about me...

    They would have to include:

    • My love of a good notebook
    • Rainbows
    • My love of Cadbury’s Choclate Buttons
    • My cat, Flora
