Please meet our Game Master

Name: Katlin
Pronouns: She/Her

Games: Dungeons and Dragons 5e or/and 5.5e - Beginner friendly and occasional  Women only sessions.
Vibe: Prefer fantasy adventures with rich storytelling, colourful maps, and monster miniatures (especially neon “neon-sters” that are fun to paint). I enjoya balance of roleplay and combat, with less focus on puzzles. I value a respectful, welcoming table -no bullying or rude behaviour. Oh and storytelling is delivered with a complimentary Estonian accent.

Most likely to say: Love it, let's see what dice will say!

Backstory

Hello virtual people!

My tabletop gaming journey began in 2022 when I moved to Coventry and joined a weekly Dungeons & Dragons group in Fargo Village. Back then, I never imagined I'd one day sit behind the Dungeon Master's screen myself.

Like many hobbies, it started with a little curiosity. I fell in love with making handmade resin dice (and, honestly, I still do!), but the more I played, the more I realised tabletop gaming wasn't just a hobby - it was a way to travel through imagination, meet incredible people, and escape everyday life for a few hours.

There was just some challengeses. I often found gaming cafés overwhelming. They were busy and noisy, tables were small, and after four-hour sessions, the seating wasn't always the most comfortable. I kept thinking, what if there was a space designed purely for immersive tabletop adventures, one table, one room?

That simple idea became Six Sided Society and the Magic Portal, which opened in October 2024. Originally, it was intended as a private fantasy room for groups to hire. But after meeting an amazing community of Game Masters, the space quickly evolved into a home for beginner-friendly one-shots, campaigns, workshops, and other tabletop events.

In 2025, we began encouraging and mentoring new Game Masters. Watching regular players discover the confidence to step to the other side of the screen has been one of the most rewarding parts of this adventure. After attending a "How to Be a Great Game Master" workshop myself, I had a realisation: why not me?

Today, I'm proud to be known as Portal Wizard Katlin - welcoming adventurers into the Magic Portal 6 days a week, helping people discover the joy of tabletop gaming, and proving that anyone can become the storyteller of their own adventure.

  • What can you expect at my game table?

I love running published (subscribed) adventures because they give me more time to focus on what I enjoy most - bringing the story to life, playing and painting with miniatures, and creating memorable moments for the party.

I'm a big fan of beautiful battle maps and dramatic reveals. Many new players find that having visual aids on the table helps spark their imagination and makes it easier to immerse themselves in the adventure.

As a Game Master, my style is relaxed, welcoming, and full of fun. I love it when players surprise me with clever, hilarious, or completely unexpected ideas. If your plan is creative enough, I might even bend the rules a little... but only if the dice agree!

  • As a player

My very first Dungeons & Dragons character was Frostlin, a wizard I played in a weekly campaign for a year and a half. He'll always have a special place in my heart and is the reason I fell in love with tabletop roleplaying.

I naturally gravitate towards whimsical, light-hearted adventures over dark, gritty tales. I love making unexpected choices and seeing where they lead, because the best stories are often the ones nobody saw coming.

That same philosophy shapes my style as a Game Master. I enjoy creating adventures where creativity is rewarded, the dice have a sense of humour, and every player helps weave an unforgettable story together.

  • If a bard wrote a song about me...

...it would probably tell the tale of someone with a million and one hobbies, forever chasing the next jolly adventure. It would celebrate my Estonian roots, where forests, folklore, waters and nature have always felt like home, and my love of travelling to discover new places and hear the stories of the people who live there.

There would certainly be a verse dedicated to Shadow - my adorably grumpy black cat who rules my home with silent judgement - and Argo, the steady knight who makes sure I remember to eat, rest, and not disappear too deeply into the realms of creativity.

I'd like to think the chorus would simply remind everyone that life is a little more magical when you stay curious, tell stories, and always keep a set of dice close at hand.
